Web Developer

Sophos, Burlington, MA - July 2009 - May 2011

Interactive Marketing and Media team member responsible for the front-end development direction of Sophos.com and its multilingual sites (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Korean).

Worked on global, cross-functional teams to update and improve the Sophos.com site. This included a complete site re-design, re-architecture, and new CMS (SiteCore) implementation which launched in April 2011 as well as the integration of a marketing automation system (Neolane).

Contributions to the new Sophos.com site included:

  • Involvement in the decision making for choosing the SiteCore CMS platform and implementation vendor selection;
  • Project scheduling, planning, and resource allocation;
  • Established front-end (XHTML and CSS) coding standards, created XHTML and CSS for site templates, and utilized JavaScript (jQuery) for interactivity;
  • Involved in the selection of a design agency (Mad*Pow) and reviewing of work contracts;
  • Reviewed and provided feedback on agency-created designs, wireframes, and sitemap;
  • Created wireframes and site map for the new "Security News & Trends" section which included: interviewing stakeholders, content analysis, providing direction to external design resources, and implementing designed pages; and
  • UAT/QA and bug fixing of the implemented pages in the SiteCore CMS.

In addition to the new Sophos.com and CMS project, I:

  • Worked in a cross-functional team to integrate a marketing automation system (Neolane) on the Sophos.com site;
  • Was a project lead for multiple projects including: Ecommerce ("Buy Now"), the "Support" section's "Customer Resource Center" and "Upgrade Center", the "Solutions" section (now contained in the "Your Needs" section of the site), and the "Channel" "Partners" section;
  • Launched new site sections and global marketing campaigns across 6 language sites;
  • Was integral in hiring additional Interactive Marketing and Media team members: created job descriptions, interviewed candidates, and created front-end development tests; and
  • Provided supervision of a contract production position and mentored team members.

Senior member of the UX/Design team responsible for the cross-browser compatible, front-end development of GotVMail.com, MyGotVMail, and GotVMail's internal central management system (CMS). This included XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript in an ASP.Net environment. Senior mobile site developer on Quattro's Professional Services team responsible for mobilizing client web sites. Development work involved: hand-coding JavaScript (e4x), XHTML, and CSS as well as integration of XML feeds using JavaScript (e4x) in Quattro's Java-based, proprietary publishing platform.
