Senior UX Developer

EventSpot team member responsible for front-end development of the event product. Working collaboratively with a multi-departmental team to provide a better user experience for customers using the event product.

Projects include:

  • An in-app redesign project (coming soon);
  • Addition of Access and Discount Codes to the product which now allows customers to create private events, provide discounted or VIP event pricing, and discounts on event related items;
  • Information Architecture and Front-end Development of a new event ticket for event hosts and attendees to use
    (Since the fall 2012 launch of the new ticket, the feature has had a +50% increased enablement.);
  • Leading the development implementation of a new, more modern template for customer usage in event assets (emails, registration form, and landing pages).

Web Developer

Sophos, Burlington, MA - 2009 - 2011

Interactive Marketing and Media team member responsible for the front-end development direction of Sophos.com and its multilingual sites (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Korean).

Worked on global, cross-functional teams to update and improve the Sophos.com site. This included a complete site re-design, re-architecture, and new CMS (SiteCore) implementation which launched in April 2011 as well as the integration of a marketing automation system (Neolane).

Contributions to the new Sophos.com site included:

  • Creating the Information Architecture (wireframes and site map) and user interactions for the "Security News & Trends" section which included: interviewing stakeholders, content analysis, providing direction to external graphic design resources, and implementing designed pages;
  • Establishing front-end (XHTML and CSS) coding standards, created XHTML and CSS for site templates, and utilized JavaScript (jQuery) for interactivity;
  • Project scheduling, planning, and resource allocation;
  • Involvement in the decision making process for choosing the SiteCore CMS platform and implementation vendor selection;
  • Involvement in the selection of a design agency (Mad*Pow) and reviewing of work contracts;
  • Reviewed and provided feedback on agency-created designs, wireframes, and sitemap; and
  • UAT/QA and bug fixing of the vendor implemented pages in the SiteCore CMS.

In addition to the new Sophos.com and CMS project, I:

  • Worked in a cross-functional team to integrate a marketing automation system (Neolane) on the Sophos.com site;
  • Lead multiple projects including: Ecommerce ("Buy Now"), the "Support" section's "Customer Resource Center" and "Upgrade Center", the "Solutions" section (now contained under "Your Needs"), and the Channel "Partners" section;
  • Launched new site sections and global marketing campaigns across 6 language sites;
  • Was integral in hiring additional Interactive Marketing and Media team members: created job descriptions, interviewed candidates, and created front-end development tests; and
  • Provided supervision of a contract production development position and mentored team members.

Senior Front-end Developer

GotVMail (now Grasshopper), Needham, MA - 2008 - 2009

Senior member of the UX & Design team responsible for the cross-browser compatible front-end code of GotVMail.com, My.GotVMail.com (Grasshopper's Portal), and GVM’s internal client management system. Worked on multi-disciplinary teams to code XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery, MooTools) in an ASP.Net environment. In addition:

  • Collaborated with the Marketing and Operations departments on GotVMail.com updates and multivariate testing;
  • Collaborated with Design manager to develop compelling enhancements to the GotVMail sites;
  • Trained and mentored 2 junior UX/Design team members;
  • Influenced operational improvements new hire training and increased the company's wiki (Confluence) usage; and
  • Contributed to GotVMail's successful "business clichés" viral marketing campaign featuring the actor, Gary Busey.

Senior Mobile Site Developer

Quattro Wireless, Waltham, MA - 2007 - 2008

Senior mobile site developer on Quattro's Professional Services team responsible for mobilizing client web sites and interactions. In addition to developing new mobile sites and maintaining launched sites, other responsibilities included:

  • Creating site maps and page/interaction flows for mobile site user experiences;
  • Content and IA analysis of desktop sites for mobilization
