I am a Boston-based, Senior Front-end Web Developer with over 10 years of Internet industry experience. Over the years, I've worked at many different types of companies, both as a contractor/consultant as well as an employee. I've worked on both corporate and client sites, survived the Dotcom era, and seen many things change.
I've worn many hats in my career as a web developer. I like getting my hands dirty in the front-end side of things (HTML code) but I also enjoy working with creative types on layout and design concepts. In addition, I like to work with (and learn from) back-end technology types as I find that I am more technical than creative. (Basically, I like to use both sides of my brain... and enjoy a career that allows me to utilize both sides.) I also enjoy working on marketing and client strategies as well as being a leader and mentor.
In short, I enjoy coding (and will continue to code) but, I have a lot more to offer than just solid code. :)
In 1998, as I was leaving my first "real world" job, one of the account directors that I worked with advised me that I should do something besides HTML; that HTML was going away and I needed to pick a direction that was purely creative, technology, or management. Well, over 10 years later, HTML is still around (albeit, with a slightly different flavor) and I'm still coding it in this ever-evolving industry. I guess the more things change, the more things stay the same.
